🌙 THE MOONLIT HERBARIUM — REFUND POLICY

Thank you for supporting The Moonlit Herbarium.
Everything we create—letters, field notes, artwork, subscription mailings, and handmade goods—is produced in small batches with care and intention. Because of the nature of our products, we cannot accept returns in most cases. This policy explains when refunds may or may not apply.

By purchasing from us, you agree to the terms below.


1. GENERAL POLICY — NO RETURNS ON MOST ITEMS

Due to the handcrafted, limited-edition, and often time-sensitive nature of our products, we do not accept returns or exchanges on:

  • Monthly mail-club subscriptions 

  • Printed letters, field notes, botanical prints, photographs, or ephemera

  • Journaling pages, printables, and digital downloads

  • Handmade items and small-batch artwork

  • Seasonal items or limited-edition collections

  • Items received as part of a subscription package

All sales are considered final unless damaged upon arrival (see Section 3).


2. SUBSCRIPTIONS — NON-REFUNDABLE

Subscription charges (including renewals) are non-refundable, including when:

  • The order has already been billed

  • The monthly package is already in production or transit

  • Renewal was processed before cancellation

  • You forgot to cancel prior to the billing date

3. DAMAGES & ISSUES

We want you to love what you receive.
If your order arrives damaged, incomplete, or defective, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with:

  • Your order number

  • A description of the issue

  • Clear photos of the damaged item and packaging

If the item qualifies, we will offer one of the following based on availability:

  • A replacement item

  • An equivalent item of similar value

  • A partial refund

  • Store credit

Items damaged due to customer handling, improper storage, or normal wear and tear are not eligible.


4. WRONG ADDRESS OR DELIVERY ISSUES

We are not responsible for orders shipped to an address that was incorrectly entered at checkout.

If the package is returned to us:

  • We can reship it to you (shipping fees apply)

  • Or provide store credit minus original shipping costs

If the package is lost or stolen after delivery is confirmed, we cannot issue refunds. We can help you file a claim with the carrier if possible.


5. DIGITAL PRODUCTS

All digital downloads—including journal pages, templates, printable field notes, and digital artwork—are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, as they cannot be returned.

If you experience a download issue, we’re happy to help.


6. ORDER CANCELLATIONS

We may not be able to cancel or modify an order once it has been processed or prepared for shipping.
Requests must be made immediately after placing the order.

7. LIMITED CIRCUMSTANCES FOR REFUNDS

Refunds may be granted only when:

  • A duplicate order was placed accidentally

  • An item is out of stock and cannot be replaced

  • We made an error with your order that cannot be reasonably corrected

All refunds are issued to the original payment method.


8. PROCESSING TIME FOR APPROVED REFUNDS

If approved, refunds may take:

  • 3–7 business days for us to process

  • Up to 10 business days for your bank or payment provider to release funds

We cannot expedite this timeline.
