The Moonlit Herbarium Society
A seasonal correspondence archive, delivered by post.
A seasonal correspondence archive, delivered by post.
The Moonlit Herbarium Society is a private correspondence archive granting access to recovered and restricted materials from the journals of a 19th-century naturalist named Clara, whose botanical studies gradually led her into documented encounters with the fae.
Members of the Society receive access to these findings as they are quietly released from the archive — letters, specimens, and collected evidence once kept from public record.
Upon joining, new members are formally welcomed with an acceptance letter from the archive, sent shortly after enrollment. This letter confirms their admission to the Society and offers context for the materials that follow.
Thereafter, members begin receiving monthly archival parcels, assembled slowly and sent by post.
A handwritten journal excerpt from Clara, detailing her observations, studies, and encounters
One pressed botanical specimen art print, preserved and mounted by hand
A piece of faery evidence — a trace, artifact, or impression recovered alongside her notes
All materials are wrapped in vellum and sealed with wax, in keeping with the archival traditions of another time.
An acceptance letter is dispatched shortly after admission to the Society.
Subsequent archive parcels are released once per month, at the beginning of each month, following the rhythm of the season.
This archive moves slowly by design. Variations, pauses, or shifts may occur as additional materials are restored, interpreted, or deemed suitable for release. Members are notified by email prior to each mailing.
The Moonlit Herbarium Society may be right for you if you:
Are drawn to folklore, botany, and hidden histories
Value slowness, symbolism, and tangible correspondence
Enjoy receiving physical artifacts presented as archival materials
This Society is not a productivity tool, a novelty subscription, or a fast-paced program.
